2021 Entry Details

Due to COVID, the original 2020 event was postponed and as a result all riders entries have been pushed forward to the new 2021 event date of October 2/3rd. Riders already entered who did no request a refund do not have to do anything. For riders who are looking to enter, we will have a waiting list and transfer option available

Changes for 2020

Date – October 2/3rd. With Battle on the Dark on Saturday October 2nd and the main Battle on the Beach event on Sunday October 3rd.

Camping – Camping is no longer included as standard for the event. Due to the field we previously hired no longer being available. You can still camp and there are several options:
1 – Purchase a tent camping ticket as an additional extra with your entry. This is per tent pitch, not person. It covers Friday to Sunday and also includes car parking over the weekend (more below). Basic facilities included such as water, portable toilets and showers. You will not be able to park next to your tent, but it will be within eyesight and no more than 100 metres away.
2 – Stay on-site at the Pembrey Country Park campsite. Options for tents, caravans and camper-vans with lots of electric hookups and excellent facilities. Booking is open from Wednesday December 18th and due to the event taking place within school holiday we strongly recommend booking early. The official on-site camping also includes a car vehicle pass for the duration of your stay.
There is also a Caravan Club site just outside the country park gates for any members.

Parking – Unless you are camping, in which case parking is included there is a new parking system and new charges for 2020. All day parking on peak dates, which includes the event weekend will be £5.80. Parking is through an ANPR system, meaning it recognises your number plate and then you need to pay before exit. DO NOT FORGET TO PAY. There is no option to pay at the gate, only at the pay stations within the park.
Due to the park charges we recommend car sharing wherever possible to reduce costs.

Longer course – We will retain a 3 lap course, with the final 3rd lap being different but all 3 will be extended up around 1km per lap. This should help ease congestion and ensure traffic free racing for all.

What is back but better than ever?

Rotor Battle in the Dark – We are delighted that Rotor Bike Components are back as Battle in the Dark sponsor. The TT event has become extremely popular over the previous 3 years. The first rider is expected to start at 20:30, just after sunset and all riders will be set off at 10 second intervals. £100 prize for fastest male & female riders with prizes for 10th, 20th, 30th and so on.

Saturday Night Entertainment – With the night race in full swing we will have live music to allow everyone to make the most of the weekend. A range of catering suppliers will be on site and a bar for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Youth Races – Once again we will have races available for all ages from balance bikes at noon on Saturday to kick the weekend off moving up to U8, U10 and U12 to U14 events taking place on Saturday afternoon.
Ages 14+ can take part in the main event.

What stays the same – Everything that makes the event unique will remain the same. A mass start with 3 laps of a 15km course for all standard categories (2 laps for fun race). All bikes are welcome and all take part in the same race. Mountain bikes, cross bikes, tandems, fat bikes, beach racers and everything in between.

Big thanks to the continued support of the event sponsors: Schwalbe, Lezyne, Surly, & Squirt Lube & Rotor Bike Components.

Entry Fees:
Weekend Race Entry – £40 (plus booking fee)
Weekend tent pitch – £15
